1) CLEAN UP AFTER YOURSELF: If you take something, or you cook food for yourself or the family, then you got to clean up after yourself, don't just leave all the dishes and pots and pans around, as well as the ingredients you use to cook the food. Think of it this way, if positions were reversed, you'd want that person to clean after themselves.
2) BE RESPECTFUL: You may be used to waking up early, but maybe the persons house your staying at, there is someone who is not. THIS IS IMPORTANT ESPECIALLY IF YOU HAVE KIDS, in the morning, be careful to not make a lot of noise, now i know its hard for kids, but still you want to be respectful of others. Don't start yelling at your kids, or making loud noises when your trying to do a task.
3) now this one SHOULD be elementary, but apparently it's not...DO NOT LEAVE YOUR UNDERWEAR EVERYWHERE OR ON DOOR HANDLES: now this one is gross, if someone is going to the bathroom and they're closing the door or want to lock it, they don't want to touch your dirty underwear, that is just gross. If you shower, than take your dirty clothes and either put it in a bag or put it in the laundry room to be washed.
5) if you sleep on the couch or an air mattress...the polite thing to do, is fold up the sheets and put the cushions back on, after all why are you going to give the host more work to do...SHE IS YOUR HOST NOT YOUR MAID!
of course in my experience...
6) you can buy your host lunch if they take you out...all though your the guest, just remember what the host is doing all for you, especially if one of them is driving you everywhere!
-BUT FOR THE HOSTS-
-don't let then always pay for you, treat them out to breakfast or lunch or something a couple times!
while there are more rules to being a guest at another ones house, this is all i can think of right now. but keep you eye out, i will definitely post another one about staying at another ones house when i think of it.
